 They are not organized at all |
| They don’t keep accurate records of my loan account. They’ve transferred money to incorrect insurance companies, misapplied other payments, and every time you call you speak to another moron who has no clue what they’re doing. I’ve made every payment on time, yet they have called and harassed and threatened me because I didn’t pay on time (when I really did). They are the most unorganized mortgage company I have ever dealt with. |
 A Wonder Experience |
We had a mortgage through them for almost 3 years. We had a wonderful experience truly. They could have messed us up since we were irresponsible and paid 2 payments late, but we were able to get a human being on the phone (which is more than I can say for my CURRENT mortgage lender) and they were compassionate and empathetic and able to help us through the tough time we had . I hate to give anyone 5 stars because no one is perfect, but truly my experience with them deserves 4. We had a high interest rate- but that was because our credit was poor, not because they jacked it up on us. |
| They are Truly Stupid!!!! |
Unfortunately, we are not finished doing business with Citimortgage, YET. We mailed a check for almost $31,000 to pay off our mortgage on Oct. 1. Now, 3 weeks later, they still have not shown our loan as paid off. We did send it to the payoff address that was "printed" on the back of their statement. When we called to check on it, they told us they had changed the "state" where the payoffs were supposed to be sent now but hadn't changed it on their statements yet. That was helpful. Tonight, we received a call asking when we planned to make our October payment. My husband asked them to "turn on" the recording device because he wanted everyone at Citimortgage to hear what he had to say. Supposedly, we were told earlier, our account would be "flagged" to reflect the ongoing payment search and not to call us about our payment being late. Well...obviously that didn't work either. By the way, we do have the receipt from the postal service showing the name of the Citimortgage employee that signed for the receipt of the payment and the day and the time. We'll let you know how the "saga" plays out. You seem really confused that no one has given a "positive" review, well, do you think that it could be because, oh, I don't know, that THEY ARE TRULY STUPID?!!!!!! |

I have had a mortgage through Citimortgage twice on the same house. Once when we did a refi of our 15-year fixed mortgage to take advantage of lower rates in 2001. The second time was when we refi'ed away from them to Principal Mortgage when rates continued to drop. Citi subsequently bought Principal and began servicing our loan again in 2005. All of these refi's were done through our local bank who originated for either Citi or Principal. For both of these loans, I have had no problems with Citimortgage at all that I can remember. Their statements are timely and accurate. They have made disbursements when they were supposed to. My recollection is that their customer service is OK. |
| Citimortgage Does Suck |
The bought my mortgage at the end of August 2007. My next payment was due Oct. 1st so I was able to wait til Sept. 10th when they would let me pay online for the first time. I submit my house payments a month in advance as I get payed on the first and its due on the first. They have sent me a bill saying I was delinquent back in Feb., now new letter says Feb.,March, and April. I send them $12.06 extra every month so how the hell can I have underpayed each month when I over payed. My payment history shows the overpayments yet out of the last four idiots I have talked to they still want me to pay 5.88 in deliquent charges, when I over pay the assholes every month. I have impecable credit, or did til citibank bought my mortgage. Its the worse day of my credit life. Barb Connell |
| Online Payment Fees |
Guess what Citimortgage Customers! Citimortgage has just decided to charge there customers who use ONLINE PAY a $10.00 Fee! Don't even think about sending your mortgage payments VIA Mail! I tried this several times and it took them three weeks to get my payment. I was told, that Citimortgage is owned by a Saudi group. Hmm? |

All I have to say is if you can stipulate in contract that your home loan never be sold to Citimortgage, PLEASE do so. The company is beyond horrible, they are predatory. Do yourself a big favor and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER! |
| Calling them is a joke |
| Every time I call the Citi customer service I get a complete runaround. They never answer my questions, I wait on hold and am transferred from department to department, and then when I finally do reach someone, they have no clue what they’re talking about. I swear they hire bums off the street and put them right to work. On a positive note, I think they’re helping the homeless problem. |

My loan was sold to Citimortgage and I have had nothing but problems. When Citimortgage took over the account they sent new payment information on where to send our checks. I sent a payment as usual and got it back a week later as they couldn’t find the account. I called them back and they had no record of my account being purchased. After 2 weeks of headaches, they said they had to recreate my account and wanted to start over from scratch which I refused to do as my payment and loan terms would be completely different and with higher rates. |
| Watch out for their hidden fees |
| I tried to refinance my loan with Citimortgage. During the process, I learned that there would be an application fee that they refund if my mortgage goes through. A few hours after agreeing to this I called them up to cancel the loan as I was approved through a local branch. Anyway, only a few hours later they refused to refund the application fee. I explained the situation and spoke with several managers over 2 weeks in order to try to get them to stop the fee, but they refused. This to me is just scandalous. A**holes. |

Every time I call Citymortgage customer service, I wait 25-30 minutes on hold just to reach someone. They’re rude, and ‘accidentally’ hang up on you over and over. Whoever manages their CS department should be ashamed. My experience with them has been the worst. |
| They held onto payments |
| Several times they have taken 3 to 4 weeks to apply a payment into my account. This pisses me off, because twice they have applied a late payment penalty fee. I am positive they waited over 3 weeks after receiving my payment! I think they do this to take advantage of unsuspecting victims. |
| Idiots |
| They hit my credit report with 4 late payment fees last year for excessive late payment. The problem is…we have paid on time every month and even their records prove this. They were suppose to remove them and after 6 months they still were not reflected on our credit report. |
| Crooks |
| I refinanced my home a few years ago in order to do some improvements. I was told that the PMI would be removed once we were near the project and made a few payments. I ended up working with them for hours on the phone for them to simply deny my request as I haven’t been a Citimortgage customer for very long. This was outright dishonesty by Citimortgage loans. |

| They’re just average. I don’t think they have the best customer service, but luckily I don’t spend much time dealing with them. I think you’d get better service from a local lender. |
| Another bad experience |
I called them to get my tax documents last year (which they never sent) and waited on hold with them for 30 minutes only to be hung up on. I called back again, and the same thing happened. I think they have extremely rude reps.

| Terrible customer service |
Citimortgage customer service has the rudest reps that I have ever dealt with. They have added in a lot of mysterious fees and never really explain what they are. I’m trying to get out of my loan and refi with a wealthy relative because I’m sick of dealing with these huge banks. The reps have basically taunted me saying that they’ll kick me out of my home. This is hardly professionalism. Stay away from Citimortgage. |
| They messed up my insurance |
| I sent my homeowner insurance notice to Citimortgage late last year. They were suppose to apply the payment within a week (or so the rep said). Well, I followed up the next week and nothing had been done, 1 week later, still nothing. After hours on the phone trying to straighten this out, they finally sent a notice that they had disbursed the funds to my insurance company. Fast forward another month and I get a notice from my insurance company that they had never received the funds. Then came the late fees, hours on hold, weeks of frustration and hassle. I’ll save myself the time…THEY MESSED UP BIG TIME. |

| I noticed something was up with my escrow early in 2005. I called them up and they told me that they had paid my homeowners insurance with escrow funds. The only problem was that they paid someone else’s insurance with my money! They were suppose to credit the funds back to my account but 3 weeks later they still had not. They kept telling me that it would be okay and that I would be contacted by Sr. staff, but, they never called me back. They ended up replacing the money, but then tacked on a service fee, because I hadn’t met my minimum balance, which was entirely their fault! |

| They lose payments, misapply funds, don’t send regular statements, have rude customer service, hold payment checks in order to accrue late fees and this is just the beginning. Don’t use Citimortgage for anything! |
| What a pain in the ass |
I’m trying to pay of my loan and they have been so difficult to work with. I swear that they’re intentionally doing this in order to charge me more late fees for payments I have made on time! This has been a nerve wrecking experience since they day we started. |

Aft
I refinanced my home in 2004 to get away from Citimortgage. Anyway, a few months later they said they we still owed them a months mortgage payment. We did some research and realized that we were not delinquent at all and had proof of the ‘missing’ payment. So after weeks of frustration they said we were right and agreed to take are of the collection issues. A year later still nothing had been done and our credit has been severely damaged. I was unable to acquire a car loan because of this hit on my credit report. I need to buy this car for my mother who is going through some bad financial times and now am paying a ridiculous interest rate on this auto loan because I have ‘bad credit’ They are the worst company to deal with. |

| I was mortgaging my condo and they agreed that we wouldn’t have to pay any points when we closed our loan. Then at the very last minute, they changed their mind and asked us to come up with a lot of money in order to close or that we’d have to walk away. I feel like I was completely taken advantage of by Citi and will never work with them again. |
