I won't deal with them again
|
| I won't deal with them again. I was shopping for a loan and was persuaded to go with them at about 5pm. I gave them my credit card to start the process. First thing in the morning I called to cancel the deal and they wouldn't return my $500 deposit. They couldn't have done much in that time, I'm pissed still today. |

I Rate Quicken a Zero |
I rate Quicken a 0
I got a call from Quicken after submitting some info through findamortgage.com. At first the customer service rep was very nice and talking to me about all sorts of things, not just the refinance we needed to buy a 3 owner out of our home (my brother in law) so that he could buy his own house and we could keep the one we are in.
First thing that put me off was he wanted everything faxed to him the same night. I told him I wasn ’ t closing on anything and wasn ’ t faxing anything to anyone. I asked him about how much our mortgage would be with the new terms they could offer us . I was told that without faxing in all our information he couldn ’ t give me a quote. That ’ s funny, everyone else seems to be able to!
Needless to say he pushed and pushed an interest only loan so that we could have more $$ each month to invest in other things and get a return on. Now we are planning on selling this house outright in 4-7 years from now. Doing some research I found that for what we owe on the house and what cash out we needed, although interest free would save us some money now, it might not be the way to go for our financial situation. I told him this and he basically told me I didn’t know what I was talking about. That ’ s where they lost me as a customer. I told him I did not like the idea of not paying down the principle of the house at all, and that in 5 years it could bite us in the butt. He said that was stupid and not true, the home would definitely appreciate more in value to give us more money. I ’ m so glad he could tell the future like that!
Then he asked all the information about who we were going with, claiming that they could do better, even though I found a better interest rate. Not to mention that when I told him we were only going to pay $375 for our appraisal and other fees outright with this other lender he said ‘ we can do better, it ’ s only $300 through us . Meanwhile he had told me about the $500 fee upfront, so I knew he was outright lying! Then when I asked about how much the total fees to refinance with them would be, he said he couldn ’ t tell me – again. Funny, again, every other place has given me at least a range for what the fees will be for refinancing with them. He wouldn ’ t even do that.
So while seemingly very nice at first, I ’ m very glad after reading a lot of reviews here that I didn ’ t fall into the trap they seemed to be setting for me and that other fell into. This company really got under my skin about this, and was so pushy that at one point I just sat there on the phone saying nothing to the guy to try and get him to leave me alon e. While I don ’ t mind some financial advice from those qualified, someone telling me that I HAVE to do something with my money and that I ’ m not being smart with my money and downright condescending about it just isn’ t right. |

Bad Bad Bad |
BAD BAD BAD!!!!! I was pressured into giving them my credit card number for a $500.00 appraisal. They promised me lower rates and money in my pockets. They sent a appraisal guy over to the house who gave us what he called an appraisal, he told my husband that our house was worth well over $500,000 however, his appraisal came back at $370,000 because he said he couldn't find any comps in the area.
Our house is huge 5 bedrooms, 4 baths and 3000 square feet. There are many houses in our neighborhood selling for and being appraised at between $460,000 and 700,000, so getting a comp shouldn't have been hard to do.
When Quicken got the appraisal they said it wasn't as high so our interest rate would have to go up and on and on. When I objected they said they would send out another appraiser "at their expense," which I thought at first was a kind gesture. Then I thought I'd better get it in writting, and when I asked for it in writting that I would not be charged for the second appraisal, they said "we will reimburse you for it at closing" and were ready to charge my credit card another $500!! I cancelled the whole thing, called the appraiser and cancelled him. They they had the nerve to call me back and say that I must have misunderstood the email!!!
NO, I understood perfectly what they were trying to do and milking me out of my money is very clear. I give them a zero and that is being generous. We went with another company and haven't been asked for a cent and everything is in writting! Anyone thinking of using this company should have their head examined!! I say run, run like the wind AWAY from them!!!! Debra Hertz |

Zero Stars |
I almost give this web site poor marks for the flowery portrayal of Quicken in its heading above. That overview did not match my experience at all. But in reading the actual reviews, I found people with the same poor esperience I suffered. So at least below the headline the information is accurate.
I give them no stars. Briefly, 1) they wouldn't provide a written good faith estimate prior to my having to pay them $500 for an appraisal, 2) they were very high pressure to send the money immediately and lock in the deal, and 3) with only a few hours more checking, I was able to find a much better deal. |

I have to agree with the bad experiences |
| I have to agree with those who have had a bad experience with Quicken Loans. I quickly jumped on the promise of lower payments in refinancing my home. I blame myself for not looking into the ARM mortgages beforehand, and how bad of a deal they really are. But before scheduling my closing, I did do my research and decided to back out. I went through constant phone calls and emails, and when they finally got the hint, I was treated like a complete idiot. They said that I had no math skills, that I couldn't add 1+1 (true statement). Honestly, I have never been more insulted by any business ever. ARM mortgages may look glossy on the outside, but it doesn't pay in the long run. Everyone should do careful research before losing that $500. I lost mine, but I guess I'll chalk it up to a lesson learned. I'll give Quicken a rating of 1. |

A two at most |
I would have probably given a 4 upon my first few minutes on the phone but then the gentleman became very aggressive and pushy. I told him I would have to discuss the rates and so on with my husband before giving a final answer. Next came the "give us $500.oo today because the rates will be higher tommorrow".( Tell me what normal person commits to an investment this huge without consulting thier spouse.) Finally his aggressiveness went past salesman pushiness to utter unprofessionalism, treating me like a fool for not jumping on this right away, ripping into other lenders, etc... To top it all off, when I told him the next day that I appreciated his time and thanked him, he replied with an e-mail reaking of "sore-looser syndrome" As it turned out we closed happily with the first lender we had sought out with a much lower interest rate, lower closing costs, lower total loan and cash in our pocket!!
DO NOT let this company high-pressure you into thinking they are the best or only option for you, check with as many lenders as possible before giving any one money or a commitment. Any company that wont give you a good faith estimate without a charge is a fraud!! |

A top notch lender |
I am a first time home buyer and the transaction could not have been smoother with Quicken. My mortgage banker was available to me anytime I had a question or concern...he even gave me his cell phone in case I had questions when we wasn't in the office. Not only did they explain eveything to me before it happened but he still follows up with me to this day! Every person representing the company I dealt with with top notch. I give them 5 stars for sure!!! |
|
A fast and smooth transaction |
One of the fastest and smoothest home loans I've ever done. Quicken was always available to answer questions and help in anyway possible. Other lenders told me my current loan was to new to refinance and that I did not have enough equity. I applied on line and with in 30 minutes I have a loan officer on the phone. He took the rest of my information and told me he had a plan that would work for me and save me money on top of that. I had no qualms about the $500.00 deposit, because after the loaned closed I got it back. Not only did I get a good deal and lots of help on refinancing, but I gained a friend. |

Beware of Quicken Loans - Run away from them... |
BEWARE of Quicken Loans-RUN away from them...
I was a recent customer of Quicken loans and rate them at 0. They are the biggest scam artists in the mortgage industry. I was dealing with Quicken Loans for two months. I was told I was fully approved and can go ahead and submit an offer on a house. I wanted to get fully approved before going out to shop for a home. Well I found my home, called quicken and told them I would need to close within 30 days. The mortgage banker I was dealing with assured me that I was already approved and all they had to do was order the appraisal. The appraisal came back and everything was going smoothly (so I thought) Needless to say, 2 days before my scheduled closing. I got a call from the mortgage banker informing me that the underwriters denied my loan. Keep in mind I already paid out of pocket hundreds of dollars to get the inspections and surveys done.
Please Beware of this mortgage company. Beware of any mortgage company that asks for an up front deposit. They are DIS-HONEST, CROOKS, and FULL OF EMPTY PROMISES. I will be reporting them to the BBB. They will also promise you the world when you first call, but you will be disappointed and loose lots of money in the long run! I now have a mortgage company that is going to pick up the broken pieces of Quicken. AND THEY ARE NOT ASKING FOR A DEPOSIT! Everyone I have spoken to about Quicken Loans has had Horror stories to tell. RUN RUN RUN….

5 stars for Quicken |
Awesome, smooth transaction. Great company |

They are commiting fraud |
Quicken Loans is the only mortgage lender who requires a $500 non-refundable deposit before you can even get a good faith estimate. They did not even give me on full business day to get my necessary documents faxed to them before withdrawing my loan then sending me a denial letter because of incomplete documentation. They are then trying to keep the deposit.
This company has a license to steal and people are promoting them and not portraying the truth as they are committing fraud. Two different loan officers did this to me and I am requesting an investigation. I will see this through until every single customer gets their money refunded. I was a slam dunk loan as I own my $150,000 home free and clear and I only need $75,000. I have no debt and very good credit. |

I give Quicken Loans a 5 |
I give Quickenloans a 5. Our loan was handled perfectly. From the beginning to the end, everyone was very pleasant and took the time to explain everything to us. All questions were handled very promplty. When we were at closing the title company was so suprised at how everything went. All of the necessary paperwork had been completed. We were made aware by Quickenloans about our mortgages and our payments. We totally understood our mortgage. We signed the papers and were done very promptly. I have and will recommend them to everyone. Thanks again all who worked with us at Quickenloans. |

Great Experience |
I had a great experience Quicken Loans. Not only were they friendlyl, knowledgeable and well experienced, they kept in constant communication with me throughout my lending experience. My loan officer was extremely knowledgable and it was truly a pleasure to work with her and my loan processor. They expedited my paperwork and ended up getting me my loan 2 weeks before my actual closing date. I found their website and online support extremely helpful in answering whatever questions I had. I could see my statements in a clear and concise manner.
I've recommended Quicken Loans to most of my friends and family who have also used them with positive results. As a first time home buyer, they helped me through every step up the way. By matching me with the right loan, I had an extra 10k upon closing which I used to buy furniture and home decore which I desparately needed. All in all, I can say that you can't go wrong with Quicken Loans! |

Stay Away from Quicken Loan |
| I applied for a Quicken HELOC so that I could purchase an investment property. After I had sumitted all of the paperwork, when it was finally tranferred to paper, it had a ton of errors regarding my employment dates, salary history, credit history etc. which negatively affected our loan application. I ended up missing out on the bid for my rental property due to the fact that Quicken Loans took almost 2 weeks to straighten out the paperwork on their end. They were slow in returning phone calls, and didn't seem that helpful when we were able to reach a loan agent. I wouldn't recommend them for anything as they cost us a great deal of frustration and hassle.

Great Service |
The entire Quicken Loans process was a snap from the first day. I found my mortgage banker to be extremely knowledgable and friendly and helped us secure the best possible loan for our situation. My loan officer was there for me and always had an answer to my questions. This was my first home loan and it took less than three weeks from application to closing. I have a rough credit history too, and they were able to work around this.
They provided a ton of information and I felt comfortable knowing that I had received the best rate for my situation. They were there for me 24/7. I would definitely recommend Quicken Loans if you're seeking a home mortgage.

Hats off to Quicken |
| I’ve been working around various aspects of the real estate industry for about 5 years now so I feel that I have a pretty good knowledge of the mortgage business. In that time, I’ve worked with a variety of mortgage companies both large and small. My wife and I bought our first home 2005 and I shopped our loan around for the best rate that I could find. After a few unsuccessful attempts, I ended up calling Quicken, as I knew they had a solid reputation.
Overall, Quicken has pretty good rates --a lot better than my bank was offering. However, that’s not why I went with Quicken. Again, I’ve worked with dozens of brokers and was well aware that Quicken has a great customer support team and extremely smart loan agents. Throughout the entire process they proved me right with their service. They explained everything every step of the way and wouldn’t let me hang up the phone until I assured them that I was comfortable at every step. They were fast and efficient and the turn around time blew my mind.
I think Quicken's has a unique corporate culture that conveys through their service and attitude. Everyone I talked to seemed devoted to me as if I was their only customer. A friend I knew use to work for Quicken and I know they value employee satisfaction. Well…it shows. My hats off to Quicken. |

Trust them. Seriously! |
| I’m writing to share my experience with Quicken Loans! I’ve been living in my home for about 3 years with my family and kids and had an adjustable rate mortgage on the house. Because of this, when it actually adjusted it went up to over 8 percent. Since interest rates were fairly low, I decided to shop around for a refinance to see what I could do. I ended up speaking with Quicken, but didn’t go through with the deal as I wanted to check out a few more alternatives.
They contacted me about once a week suggesting possible alternatives which ended up being much better than the contract we were going to sign with a local lender. The loan agent who followed up was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and never too pushy.
Once the paperwork went through, which was pretty easy, I ended up getting an amazing fixed rate that lowered my payments about $500 per month. I even got some cash back on the deal thanks to my loan agent. Everyone I dealt with at Quicken was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them. |

They lost me as a customer |
I’m having an issue with the way Quicken Loans is treating one of my customer. I don't care that they have a ton of different loan program as I’ve never had a problem getting my clients a loan. When they thought they were going to lose me as a customer, they started bringing having other colleagues contact me to scare me into believing that other banks wouldn’t approve my clients loans. They told me that I would forfeit my deposit because they had done a lot of work on my case. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they eventually credited my deposit back. If they were right, I would not have received my deposit back. I think they’ve been pretty unprofessional in the way they have treated me as a regular client. |
|
Perfect |
I have 0 Quicken Loans Complaints. They truly deliver what they promise. They were honest upfront when I refinanced my adjustable mortgage and told me clearly what to expect. Since I refinance my arm, I haven't had a single problem. They're courteous, friendly, and never let me hang up the phone until I guarantee them that I am satisfied and taken care off. They're a GREAT mortgage company. |
|
Not bad! |
I've been with Quicken for about 3 years now and am pretty impressed with the service I have received with them. So far, there hasnt been a single problem. I find their customer service to be helpful and there with knowledgable answers. The entire appraisal and closing process was a snap. I would definitely recommend checking them out. |
|
Flawless Transacation. |
I had a great experience with Quicken Loans. From the first time that I logged onto their website until my loan closed, the entire process took only 3 weeks. They took care of me from start to finish and I felt that my loan agent was extremely knowledgeable throughout the entire transaction. I did some searching around and feel that I got a decent rate with Quicken. I've heard horror stories of other online lenders, but not with Quicken! |
